Personal Stories
It can be difficult to live life as an out trans person. As I experience different aspects of everyday life, I try to share the most impactful stories to help others who are anxious about transitioning or going through the same thing. If you're worried about discrimination or loneliness, I'm here to say things get better. Keep your head up, we'll get through this journey together.
I’ve experienced discrimination in the healthcare industry. I made this just after trump finalized a rule defining gender as biological sex assigned at birth. The Supreme Court has since ruled to define discrimination based on sex as including the LGBTQPIA+ community. Essentially makes it is illegal to discriminate against LGBTQ people particularly in the workplace, but this could have legal standing in other cases as well.

Early in July, a guy verbally harassed me at a busy bus stop. I was scared when he first approached me, but he continued to turn away from me then turn back to yell more profanities. I'm just glad to be safe and have a support system to help me get through it. If something like this happens to you and you need to talk someone reach out! I try to respond to everyone on my social media, additionally there a few lifelines linked on the Addition Help Page.

My last video (a makeup tutorial based on the trans pride flag) received a lot hate, so I decided to do something a little different. This video was very vulnerable for me. People's labels don't define me. Only I define me. I'm a woman. I'm transgender. I'm beautiful with or without makeup. Don't let anyone tear you down. You're amazing and you're valid and you're beautiful.
I quite enjoyed the experience and friendships I made at my past job, but there were times that I felt uncomfortable. No one deserves being treated as lesser because of who they are. I am so excited, though, to be starting my professional career in makeup!
