Trans rights are human rights. We are not second-class citizens. We are not minorities. We are deserving of legal protections under the law. Trans women of color have historically lead the fight for our rights and continue to do so today. The trans community has come a long way towards acceptance, but we still have a long way to go to. Human rights are not a matter of opinion. Everyone deserves the protection of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Avideo about the importance of the Affordable Care Act and why would shouldn't repeal it. Obamacare gave Trans folk protections against discrimination. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) saved millions of lives. Repealing Obamacare will take away the anti-discrimination clause for transgender people and countless others for "preexisting conditions." The Republicans probably won't repeal its entirety. Protect Section 1557 and keep the anti-discrimination clause!
On July 26, 1948 President Truman desegregated the military. Two years ago, President Obama made it okay for gay, lesbian, and bi people to serve and last year he made it okay for transgender people to serve. Today July 26, 2017 Trump said he will not allow transgender people to serve their country. This law is discriminatory and wrong. Trans military members lay down their lives to protect our rights. Trans people already have few rights in our federal laws. This discrimination cannot become law. These tweets are just threats meant to distract us from the cases being brought against the Trump family and administration. Call your representatives. Stop the healthcare repeal. We will resist!
